Back & Neck Pain

The spine is a column of vertebrae stacked on top of one another, designed to protect the spinal cord. It can be split into 3 sections: cervical spine (neck), thoracic spine (rib region) and lumbar spine (lower back). Each area is susceptible to injury either via acute injury (trauma, whiplash, lifting), or overuse (poor posture, arthritis). Around 80% of people experience back pain at some point in their lives, making this the most common area treated by physiotherapists.
